VE4 Light Duty Housing Tie The VE4 comes in two styles. The first has a multi-drip in the middle of the tie, while the second has two offset double drips placed apart. This second style is intended for walls with larger cavities ensuring the drip sits in the clear cavity. The double-drip style is only available for the 275mm tie. The drip features prevent moisture from traveling across the cavity. Both designs allow them to be installed in either orientation. The VE4 is classified as a Type 4 tie, permitting a maximum building height of 10 meters. It is suitable for flat sites with a basic wind speed of under 25 m/s and an altitude below 150 meters above sea level. It is classified as a Type A tie, meaning it is suitable for party or external walls.
